"The Angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him, and He delivers them." - Psalm 34:7

On October 9th-10th from 2PM-2PM, Majesty Project had the honor of joining Shelter KC for Conversations On A Bench: a livestreamed event across North America where 70+ ministries from Citygate Network gathered on benches for real, candid conversations on homelessness awareness, addiction, and mental health.
Shelter KC's director, Eric Burger, invited Majesty Project to set up beside them in the heart of downtown Kansas City and paint a piece live during those 24 hours. I had the privilege of bringing "Encamped Around" to life on-site, revealing it in its progress stages on the livestream. I also had the honor of sitting with Eric on the bench and being interviewed on the livestream.
Even in the 24-hour period I joined Shelter KC on the streets, I got to witness God at work through this artwork. Multiple conversations around the painting reminded me why we founded Majesty Project. One of the Shelter KC residents sat down with me on the concrete sidewalk in front of the piece and shared her life story with me; she told me that she'd been sleeping on the streets just two days before, and the painting impacted her deeply because she saw herself on that bench. Another man who worked at the facility said that he had never become emotional over an art piece until "Encamped Around."
"It's exactly what we pray is happening when these men are out on the streets," he said.
When it was revealed that "Encamped Around" would be donated and installed in Shelter KC's facility, several of the residents expressed their excitement that the piece would remain with them.
And I just had to marvel that God would use my tiny, insignificant efforts to bring hope and joy to those He wants to touch with His presence.
This is what Majesty Project is for. Even here, at our first real event, I got to see the impact God is using our work for first-hand, and I am in awe. I cannot wait to see how God uses this Project in the coming years; because if it opened a few eyes to His majesty in these few hours, I can only imagine how many eyes will be opened and hearts will be blessed as we spread His presence across the country through art.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being a part of this journey with us.
